Intelligent Vehicle Guard Controllers
and Mobile
Security Station.
Automatic Vehicle
Location (AVL) is a technology used
for tracking trucks, vans, cars, vessels and mobile assets such as
trailers or containers. Each mobile unit has a GPS receiver that
reports its position to the base station over a communications
network. This allows the base station to monitor the entire fleet
and manage the mobile assets.
Intelligent Vehicle
Guard Controllers.

Background work
The VEGUA Dispatch
PC Software
The VEGUA Dispatch
PC system has been designed for
real-time tracking of the geographical position of vehicles
or other objects. It also possesses the ability to mark the position
on the electronic map.
The main components of the VEGUA
Dispatch system are:
- Vehicle-mounted equipment
(may be installed on a car, a truck, a special service transport,
a motorcycle, a yacht, a motorboat and etc.) or a special GSM
phone (available at retail sellers)
- Special “GENERAL VIEW”
software, that transforms received signals into visual information
attached to the electronic map.
What are the VEGUA Dispatch
PC abilities?
I.
On the vehicle:
- Determines the position of the vehicle and sends it to
the electronic map, when queried
- Records the path of the vehicle, according to the
predefined algorithm, and sends it to the electronic map via a
cell phone or a direct connection to a computer.
- Has alarm functions and is able to send alarm signals
on the programmable cell phone number. May be combined with an
existing alarm.
- Provides mobile phone connection from the cockpit of
the vehicle to the programmable phone numbers.
- May inform the Owner about reaching the defined route
points or about deviation from it
- (Note: only if used together
with the Benefon Track Pro cell phone).
- May control some of the vehicle systems (turn off the
engine, make sound signals and etc.)
- May gather information about the vehicle state (speed,
ignition and etc.)
II.
In the house, in the office, on the factory.
- Processes signals from the alarm sensors and transmits
the alarm signal.
- Transmits telemetry data and controls engineering
systems at a distance.
Usage examples:
1)
Car alarm, finding the position of a hijacked vehicle,
blocking the engine.
2)
May also be used as a stationery cell phone, in this
situation the driver doesn’t have the possibility to abuse his
private talks.
3)
Checking if the driver follows the defined route and counting
the route time.
4)
It is possible to send the defined messages, such as
“alarm”, “the passenger is delivered and the car is free”
etc. with a single button click. Having received the signal, the
operator will also see the position of the vehicle.
A brief description of the VEGUA Dispatch
program
The VEGUA Dispatch program works
in the multi-window mode. In every window you may independently set
the desired scale, track certain objects and browse the entire
object’s path or the waypoints.
The VEGUA Dispatch program has
three modules:
The DETECTION module has all the
TRACK module functions and is able to query the positions of the
cars. The queries are sent via SMS messages.
The DRIVE module has all the
DETECTION module functions and is able to control all the GPS/GSM
device functions (remote control of the object).
The TRACK module allows reading
the history from the device via the PC COM port or by means of the
Data-Link cellular connection.
The required module must be
chosen when registering (buying) the program.
The VEGUA Dispatch program may
work with five AVL device types.
The number of the supported
devices may be increased if required. The VEGUA Dispatch program may
also work with the GPS receivers using the NMEA format via the PC
COM port.
If used on a notebook with a GPS
receiver, the program turns into a full-scale navigation system with
a wide range of functions.
The program allows showing the
objects’ heading and velocity. All objects may be shown on a single
map or may be divided into groups using the Control
function.
The program supports alarm
functions. When the alarm is triggered or the Panic button on the
device is pressed, the program displays the alarm window combined
with the sound signal. The user will then be able to record the
object’s actions. After the input ends, the text is saved in the
archive.
The program may simultaneously
process several alarms from different objects.
The program supports route
planning and creating of the waypoint layers. These functions may be
combined with the Benefon Track Pro cell phone.
The program supports reading
the history from the AVL device. The history may be read
directly via the PC COM port or by means of the Data-Link cellular
connection. In the Data-Link mode, the AVL device calls a modem and
establishes the connection. In both modes the average reading speed
is about 10.000 waypoints per second.
